Sumpter Valley Dredge, Sumpter, Oregon

An unbelievable engineering feat! It carved up the valley leaving ribbons of tailings in it's wake. Reminded us of Alaska. It's a cool old west town with a motel in the stockade. Sumpter would be a fun place to stay.
